Solar energy

The city's Sustainability Plan details the city's electric power mix; 0.5% is from solar (p. 07). It also documents initiatives that have been implemented since 2005 including the installation of a solar power system at the Lake Hennessey pump station (p. 07).

The plan includes recommended actions including exploring the feasibility of adding more renewable energy on city property (p. 10).

The plan discusses SB 2X, which requires CA utilities to generate 33% of their electricity supply from renewable sources; it addresses the Community-Based Renewable Energy Self-Generation program and lists community solar gardens as a common example (p. 32).

Future plans and recommended actions include connecting homeowners and businesses for bulk purchasing power of renewable energy (p. 34).
