The borough's subdivision regulations address solar in the standards for lots and blocks (Sec. 18.20.130.F). Blocks and lots should be designed to have long axes running from east to west for solar access purposes.

According to the borough's zoning ordinance, approval criteria for variances include a consideration of whether the proposal will excessively deprive neighbors of solar access (Sec. 19.60.040.F).
