Solar Energy

The General Plan's Sustainable Goals and Policies framework establishes policies and actions to reduce nonrenewable energy resouce consumption by encouraging the use of sustainable energy technologies (Policies C-51, E-18, E-20, and E-21). The Open Space and Conservation Element reduces obstacles to energy conservation and encourages the use of renewable energy sources by allowing expedited review of sustainable energy projects (Policy C-51, Action C-51A). The Energy Resources Alternative Energy Development Element encourages the development of alternative energy facilities for both commercial and domestic uses (Policy E-18, Action E-18a, Policy E-20, Actions E-20a - 20c).
