Solar Energy

The General Plan's Community Resources Element includes a policy to educate residents and businesses about the benefits of energy efficiency technologies and practices, such as solar panels (Policy CR.21.5). The Community Resources Element also notes that the abundance of sunshine provides the city with an opportunity to increase use of alternative energy sources (Sec. 3.12). The Implementation Program of the General Plan promotes energy conservation by educating residents about solar and supporting state solar laws and solar rights protections (Sec. 3-23.E).
