Solar Energy

The township's zoning ordinance permits solar energy systems as accessory uses in all zoning districts (Table 16-1). The code provide a definition for solar energy systems and requires them to meet setback requirements for accessory structures (Sec. 1604.H20). The code also exempts solar energy systems along with other rooftop appurtenances from building height limitations (Sec. 1911.D).
