Solar Energy

The town's comprehensive plan addresses solar in its goals and objectives, including encouraging the development and use of renewable energy resources through several means such as on-site production of solar or wind energy power (Objective 2.1.4.8, p. 8). A section in the plan on Energy includes a general policy of encouraging the use of renewable energy sources (General Policy 3, p. 114). General energy strategies include supporting renewable energy structures and solar access under conditional use provisions (General Strategy 4, p. 115) and appointing a Energy Task Force to pursue actions including encouraging on-site residential and commercial installation and use of solar and wind energy production (General Strategy 5, p. 115).
