The Health and Safety title of the city code includes a view and sunlight preservation ordinance. Though the ordinance does not specifically address solar energy systems, it does describe a process for identifying and protecting preexisting view and sunlight rights in the event a property owner feels his sunlight has been unreasonably obstructed by the growth of trees (Chap. 8.13).
