Solar Energy

The county's comprehensive plan addresses primary-use and accessory-use solar development in its Future Land Use element. It lists solar electric-power generation facilities as a specialized use to be developed in accordance with the LDC (Policy 2.125-A1), and lists location and location criteria policies for this use (Sec. 2.125-O). It also provides an energy conservation and efficiency objective encouraging the use of renewable energy (Objective 2.1251-D) and an associated policy of allowing solar energy systems as accessory uses (Policy 2.1251-D1). The plan also defines four solar energy system-related terms (Div. 4.400).
