Solar Energy

In the city's General Plan, the Housing Element includes a goal of increasing energy efficiency and minimizing environmental impacts from housing in the city (Goal HOU-2), with a supporting policy of encouraging the installation and use of energy-efficient devices and materials, including solar panels (Policy HOU-2.1). In the Environmental Management Element of the plan, a goal to reduce energy consumed by the city (Goal EM-9) is supported by a policy to support on-site generation of alternative energy through methods such as solar panels (Policy EM-9.2).
