Report a broken linksolar energy
The city's Comprehensive Plan addresses solar energy in its Environmental Resources chapter. The chapter discussion of energy sources notes that solar energy holds promise as an important alternative energy source in the city, and that use of solar technology should be encouraged (p. 3). In the section on Energy Policies and Strategies, Policy 3 is to encourage renewable energy use, with strategies including reviewing new development for solar orientation and incorporating solar use into review criteria for new development (p. 27). Policy 4 is to encourage energy efficiency, and an associated strategy calls for investigating solar access legislation to insure availability of light, wind, and air in new development (p. 27).
