The city's zoning code addresses solar in its standards for site plan review, requiring that new structures be sited to take advantage of solar access insofar as practical, including the consideration of building orientation and impacts on solar access to adjacent properties (Sec. 1373.07.b.5).

The code also notes that solar collectors and other rooftop equipment is exempt from district height exemptions (Sec. 1331.07.a.3).
