Accessory Dwelling Units

The city’s zoning code permits internal, attached, and detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs) by right in all districts that permit single-family homes, subject to use-specific standards. These standards address owner occupancy, units per single-family home, unit size, exterior appearance and modifications, parking requirements, subdivision and sale, application procedures, and unit removal (§18.31.120).
