Built Environment and Health
The city’s codified ordinances include a Health in All Policies statement (Chapter 9.15). This section provides definitions for key terms and identifies ways this approach can be implemented in all city departments, including reviewing the Strategy Document, creating an Interdepartmental Team, and developing an ongoing community engagement plan.
Marijuana-Related Uses
The city’s business licensing code permits multiple types of medical-marijuana-related uses, subject to licensing standards (§7.102). It defines “medical marijuana collective,” “medical marijuana product manufacturer,” and “mobile dispensary and mobile delivery.”
Its licensing standards address zoning district use permissions; proximity to residential uses; separation from schools, parks, community centers, and childcare centers or nursery schools; density of collectives; total licensed dispensaries and manufacturers; colocation of dispensaries and manufacturers; lighting; security; odor control; signage; compliance with state and local laws; nonprofit status; testing; criminal background checks; and state licenses and notification.
