Comprehensive Planning
This city's comprehensive plan, developed by the Hillsborough County Planning Commission and adopted in 2016, achieved Silver-level recognition in APA's Comprehensive Plan Standards for Sustaining Places Recognition Program Pilot in 2016. The land-use section of the plan offers goals, objectives, and policies for a wide range of programs and development types, including employment centers, central city, mixed use centers, urban villages, transit stations, commercial areas, and neighborhoods. Other sections of the plan address mobility, neighborhood and community planning, public schools, housing, infrastructure, potable water, wastewater, solid waste, stormwater management, coastal management, environment, recreation and open space, intergovernmental coordination, and capital improvements.
