Food Systems

This toolkit from the Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic and Community Food Security Coalition was created to provide a starting place for food policy councils and other users, including city planners, to understand the basic legal concepts surrounding local food systems, develop a base of knowledge, and discover examples and innovations from other cities and states. The guide covers seven main policy areas:  general legal setting, food system infrastructure, land-use regulation, urban agriculture, consumer access, school food and nutrition education, and environmental sustainability.
