Food Systems

The Douglas County Food Policy Council commissioned this food system analysis for the county and its surrounding region to identify the benefits, challenges, and opportunities for a successful and sustainable local food system. The report explores food production historic trends and natural resources, quantifies and compares current food production to food consumption in the region, examines food processing and distribution facilities, explores food security issues, and looks at the economic impacts of the local food system.
