Food Systems

This document, adopted as a chapter of the city's comprehensive plan, identifies local food as a key sustainability issue for the city. Objective 2, Local Food, establishes eight policies to promote area food production, sales, and consumption while reducing food waste. These policies address agricultural preservation, farmers markets, temporary food stands, use of city-owned property as community gardens, attracting grocery stores, local food identity, reducing food waste, and food education.
