Autonomous Vehicles

The city's comprehensive plan includes policy recommendations related to investing in infrastructure and technology to support autonomous (and connected) vehicles. The plan's Strong Connections element recommends creating communications infrastructure, promoting autonomous vehicle services to connect popular destinations, and developing smart roadway corridors (Policy SC-1E).

Housing Needs Assessment

The city’s comprehensive plan includes a summary of their more extensive housing needs assessment in Appendix A. Chapter 2 shares policies that work towards addressing these needs, like developing smaller-scale neighborhood plans and removing barriers to the development of diverse housing types.

Smart Cities

The city's comprehensive plan includes policy recommendations related to creating and implementing a smart cities plan and investing in smart cities technologies to reduce energy consumption. The plan's Thriving Economy element includes the goal to become a smart cities leader (Goal TE-5), with associated policies and strategies aimed at creating and implementing a smart cities plan. The plan's Strong Connections element echoes the recommendation to create a smart city plan (Policy SC-1E) and includes a policy recommendation to plan and implement smart city technologies in coordination with Colorado State University (Policy SC-4B).
