Farmland Protection | Food Systems

The county’s general plan addresses farmland protection in the agricultural resources element. Goals address stabilizing agricultural use at the urban fringe (2.2), limiting the intrusion of new residential uses into agricultural areas (2.3), and mitigating conflicts between agricultural and nonagricultural uses in designated agricultural production areas (2.4). Policies and objectives address implementation tools, including urban service boundaries, TDR programs, agricultural zoning, cluster subdivisions, agricultural buffers, and right-to-farm ordinances.
