Farmland Protection

The township’s zoning code addresses farmland protection by establishing an Agricultural/Farmland Preservation district (§3.01) with the intent of preserving land within the district for agricultural use for the foreseeable future. The district implements sliding scale zoning to promote farmland preservation within the district; the number of two-acre parcels allowed to be split from a parent parcel (up to six) is based on the size of the parent parcel.
