Troup County, GA, Code of Ordinances
By: Troup County, GAReport a broken link
The county’s zoning ordinance addresses agritourism. Supplemental regulations address rural and agritourism development (§5.7). The code provides a purpose and benefits statement, and defines a substantial list of agritourism-related terms and uses. It categorizes agritourism uses and facilities as (1) minimum impact, (2) small scale, or (3) large scale. The first two categories are approved administratively, while large-scale uses require board of commissioners approval, and business licenses are required for all agritourism enterprises except for on-site produce sales.
The code lists requirements for agritourism uses or facilities, including site plan and other application requirements. Rural tourism, e.g., special events venues, are also addressed for rural properties that are no longer working farms; standards are provided for this use.
