Creative Placemaking

This functional plan provides recommendations to engage in arts and culture strategies to improve livability along five transit corridors. Specific strategic options are based on spatial applicability and provide information on the creative placemaking approach, primary cultural resources, potential leads and partners, and funding and cost implications. The plan identifies low-cost mitigation and animation projects as a strategy to engage artists and community members. Additionally, it provides zoning recommendations to encourage creative placemaking, such as permitting artist studio space, reducing restrictions for cultural organizations, and using flexible zoning tools like form-based zoning and arts overlay zones.
