Accessory Dwelling Units

This report presents the results of a survey of accessory dwelling unit (ADU) property owners in Portland, Oregon; Seattle; and Vancouver, British Columbia. Individual sections discuss common barriers to ADUs; stories of success: Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver; the role of ADU reform; survey methodology; ADUs in the survey; challenges and opportunities; and conclusions and policy implications.
