Solar Energy

This report covers the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) policies toward solar development at airports and the potential for greater solar energy use on these sites. Airports are uniquely advantaged for solar because of their proximity to flat grasslands and solar system’s low height profile. The report examines strategies to minimize glare and glint as well as other technical, financial, and operational considerations.
