This briefing paper compares U.S. and E.U. policy approaches to addressing health inequities. It discusses the use of action plans, the identification of disadvantaged populations, the role of the health care system, the involvement of multiple sectors, the role of wealth, and the use of data. Table 1 summarizes the U.S. approach, while Table 2 summarizes the E.U. approach.
