Social Equity

This article examines the Little Portugal neighborhood in west central Toronto to point out the positive and negative effects of gentrification on ethnic neighborhoods. Part 7 lists and explains these effects. It concludes that the gentrification of Little Portugal is resulting in rising home values and displacement to the suburbs for Portuguese and other recent immigrant populations, reversing earlier settlement patterns.
