Artificial Intelligence And Planning

This article assesses the pros, cons, and unknowns of utilizing AI in the practice of urban planning. It analyzes the potential for surveillance discrimination, potential issues with big data collection, and data security, but also the potential gains in efficiency in planning. In the article, the author also considers the ethical concerns surrounding implementing AI in urban planning, including what problems planners are trying to address with AI and the potential pitfalls of existing AI technology, such as unreliable facial recognition technology.
