Farmland Protection | Food Systems

This functional plan provides strategies to guide the county's agricultural and farmland protection efforts. It contains five overarching goals:

1. Integrate agriculture into all aspects of the county's economic development strategy;
2. Increase public support for agriculture through education and engagement;
3. Continue to offer support and training for farm operators;
4. Protect farmland; and
5. Support the next generation of farmers.

It also identifies priority projects for the county, with action steps, project partners, cost of the project, a proposed timeframe, and an implementation plan for the actions.
