Urban Heat Resilience

This report provides information to help Washington, DC, and other local government agencies develop and implement plans to protect their communities from the risks of increased temperatures. It presents several policy options such as communication and outreach, mapping heat islands, providing cooling centers, and expanding greening initiatives. Each policy option contains an analysis of benefits and risks, case studies, and additional resources for the specific strategy.
