This article evaluates the effectiveness of heat mitigation strategies in Phoenix, AZ. The findings suggest that a 1% increase in tree canopy cover reduced the air temperature by 0.14°C and that cool roofs reduce temperatures by 0.3°C in residential neighborhoods.
