Urban Heat Resilience

This functional plan provides a roadmap to help increase the shade canopy coverage in the community and, among other benefits, address the urban heat island effect. It contains recommendations and policies to raise public awareness of the condition and benefits of the urban forest, preserve, protect, and increase the quality and quantity of trees and vegetation, and ensure that trees and shades are an integral part of planning and development processes.
