Today, there is greater emphasis on graphic representation and visual communication to explain complex ideas, educate, advocate for change, and describe processes. Planning relies heavily on graphic materials to explain research and data and communicate with diverse audiences with varying levels of familiarity with planning concepts and ideas.

Presenters help you prepare work plans, learn new graphic communication tools and techniques, help community members visualize and walk through development proposals, and facilitate decision-making and design processes. See examples of graphic communication and visualization techniques and products used to engage with diverse and low-income communities in the San Diego region.

Speakers connect graphics and outreach methods to demonstrate the power of drawing more and talking less.
