Mobility as a Service

Mobility as a service, or MaaS, is the integration of various forms of transport and transport-related services into a single, comprehensive, and on-demand mobility service. Users can use one application and a single payment channel that can include public transportation, walking, cycling, ride sharing, taxis, and car rentals. MaaS is already deployed in many cities across the globe, and its use is projected to grow.

In Finland, Helsinki has implemented a MaaS system that provides everything from travel planning to payments and offers real-time travel information in hopes of discouraging private car ownership. MaaS can help provide more equitable transportation options for residents and support sustainability goals.
