Expert proposal reviewers needed
Play an important role in providing best-quality learning at next year's National Planning Conference in San Francisco by reviewing proposed educational sessions. Proposal reviewers' evaluations will ensure that the NPC19 program reflects innovation and diversity in planning research, practice, education, and professional development. Preference will be given to members of APA divisions. AICP members may claim CM credit for this pro bono planning service. Apply by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on May 4.
APA will accept NPC19 session proposals June 1–25.

Highlights from the April 20 APA Board of Directors meeting
Board actions included:
- Adopting new diversity and inclusion statements and strategy into the APA Development Plan;
- Approving a redesign of the Journal of the American Planning Association;
- Approving a new process for reviewing and revising APA's mission and vision statements;
- Approving APA's new membership strategy, including student and new member programs launched last year; and
- Discussing strategies for effective interaction and communication with chapters, divisions, and student organizations.

- Claire Meyer, for "Cincinnati's Urban Renewal: The Kenyon-Barr Neighborhood," submitted in the Urban Design and Preservation Track; and
- Ashley Pryce, for "Historic Preservation and Community Development Strategies," submitted in the Planning for Inclusiveness and Social Justice Track.

Kudos to Texas Planners4Health
A Texas Planners4Health project, Emergency Preparedness and Recovery: A Tool Kit for Rural Communities, has been selected as a Promising Practice by the National Association of County and City Health Officials' Model Practice Program. NAACHO determined that the project demonstrates exemplary and replicable qualities in response to a local public health need. The award will be presented at NACCHO's annual conference in July.
