Resilience Roundtable, Episode 1: John Henneberger
In APA's new podcast series, Resilience Roundtable, host Rich Roths, AICP, engages with fellow hazards planners and others who make resilience their mission. |
In Episode 1, Roths talks with John Henneberger, an expert on low-income housing, a 2014 MacArthur Fellow, and codirector of Texas Housers, a nonprofit advocate for equitable disaster recovery policy and practices. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita opened his eyes to disasters' exaggerated impact on low-income neighborhoods of color — a realization reinforced last year by Hurricane Harvey's effects on parts of Houston. Henneberger describes innovative recovery efforts in Texas, emphasizes the linkage between good planning practice and equity, and stresses the importance of giving disaster survivors a sense of personal agency. |

CM Q&A
Q. I'm in the 2017–18 reporting period. Should I notify APA after I log all required CM credits?
A. No, the CM system automatically tracks this information for APA.
Keep logging credits as you earn them. On January 1, 2019, your CM log will include the capability to review, sign off, and close the 2017–18 reporting period. Once that is done, up to 16 of the excess credits you logged will automatically carry over to 2019–20. Please note: CM law and CM ethics credits will not carry over. |
